Job Description
Position: Program Specialist
Program: Congregational Recovery Outreach Program (CROP)

Mississippi Public Health Institute (MSPHI), a statewide not-for-profit corporation, is seeking a dynamic Program Specialist for the Congregational Recovery Outreach Program (CROP), which is funded by the Mississippi Department of Mental Health. CROP’s purpose is to work with church leaders and congregants to erase the stigma associated with seeking help for substance use disorders and mental health challenges. The successful candidate will help to drive impactful alliances and shape the Congregational Recovery Outreach Program’s (CROP) future, promote awareness of CROP, its services, and recruit and engage faith-based partners across the state of Mississippi.

Program Specialist responsibilities

  • Collaborate with churches, organizations, and behavioral health providers to develop, implement, and optimize partnerships that resonate with our target audience and deliver measurable results
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure program effectiveness and efficiency
  • Conduct and/or coordinate a program launch and training sessions for each partnering church
  • Create and maintain documentation, reports, and presentations related to program activities
  • Establish and maintain effective relationships with partnering churches, behavioral providers, and external stakeholders
  • Maintain data and records monthly and annually
  • Monitor program partners to ascertain referral process and treatment plans are processed
  • Provide support and guidance to team members involved in CROP program activities
  • Seek opportunities to enhance the reputation of the program, and coordinate public events/activities as required
  • Travel to individual partnering sites, as well as attend related conferences and professional development trainings
  • Proficient in the English language
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

Education: A Bachelor’s or Advanced degree in psychology, mental health, social work, or a related field. Master’s degree is preferred

Experience: 5 years' experience with social services and/or behavioral health services preferred

Strong verbal and written communication skills

Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks and manage time efficiently to meet deadlines, cultivate partnerships, and directly lead or facilitate meetings with staff, partners, and/or external stakeholders

Demonstrated experience working with databases/spreadsheets, email, internet research, and virtual meeting applications (such as Zoom and/or Teams)

Must be able to satisfy a comprehensive background check

Salary Range: $50,000-$60,000 depending on qualifications and experience.

Supervisory Relationships: The Program Specialist will report directly to the Program Manager of the Congregational Recovery Outreach Program.
